15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2
Interview #1
My first interview was with a current business owner in Gainesville. When asked if he would hire a business coach, would you prefer if he had an office or would you rather it be completely online. He said he would rather find a person online because it is easier to lookup his information and credentials. When asked what he would consider a successful hire. He sad if I can see the improvements done to my business immediately I would consider it a successful hire.
Interview #2
My second interview was also a current business owner in Gainesville. When asked if he would hire a business coach, would you prefer if he had an office or would you rather it be completely online. He said he would rather meet face to face because he feels more comfortable doing business that way. When asked what he would consider a successful hire, he replied if my business has improved massively in the span of 3 months I would consider that to be a good hire.
Interview #3
My third interview was a past business owner in Ocala. When asked if he would hire a business coach, would you prefer if he had an office or would you rather it be completely online. He said he would need to meet with him in person at first, but he would not mind if most of the business arrangement happened online. When asked what he would consider a successful hire, he replied that any knowledge I gain from him that in some way helps my business would make the hire worth it for me personally.
Summary
I had a hard time trying to come up with alternatives to ask because I don't think there really is any. For purchase decision I think personal preference had a lot to do with their decisions. People who are comfortable with online B2B commerce are more likely to prefer doing business online. While others are prefer it to be person to person. In terms of post-purchase evaluation it seems that it will only be seen as successful if their business actually see improvement in terms of profit. Otherwise they don't see the hiring of a business coach to be any valuable.

I too had a hard time asking alternatives. I found that it was a more difficult part of the assignment. I think that you did a really good job with this assignment. Your interviews seemed thorough, and your questions were relevant. Well done.
